How many times in your life have you asked “why am I here”? Many of us have asked this question more than once. This often occurs when we hit a low point in our lives that causes us to reflect. We wonder what our purpose is supposed to be in this world. As a Christian, I have asked many times and searched for what I thought was the answer. However, you have to be able to listen to the right voice, the voice of God. He will lead you to finding your purpose! Although you may be able to hear, you must listen intently and pray for His guidance. Diligent prayer and time with God in a quiet place will allow you to be able to listen effectively to what God has in store for you and your life. Never give up and maintain your faith as you practice patience for His direction. As a writer, I pray this book helps to guide you on your path to success in finding what you seek. God Bless!

This book was written after the passing of my 3.5 year old granddaughter, Cecilia Raen Eversole. She was born with a congenital gene mutation of a sodium channel in her brain, which caused her to have a rare form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome. Although I am a nurse practitioner in my profession, I had to research a ton of information about her disease. What I discovered along the way included how her disease would progress over time, along with other comorbidities that could occur. She was not just a special needs child, but an extraordinary child on every level. This little girl changed me in a positive way and was the biggest blessing in my life. We endured a lot of learning along the way with trial and error, looking for every possible way to help Cecilia and us. Having met a few other families with special needs children, I am hopeful that this book will help to encourage, inspire, educate, and bless those who choose to read it. This little girl unlocked the writer in me! God Bless!

In June 2022, my wife and I lost the greatest gift we have ever received, our granddaughter Cecilia Raen Eversole. She was born in November 2018 and unknowingly had a rare form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome. She was diagnosed just before her first birthday. Although she faced multiple hospitalizations and struggles in her short 3.5 years with us, nobody would ever know it by watching her live her life. She was as vibrant and energetic as anyone I have ever known. Aside from the seizures, she was a typical wild toddler. Unfortunately, God chose the prettiest flower from the garden and called her home on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. I very next day, I wrote my first poem to her. I have continued to write her a poem every Wednesday since that day and still do so currently. Once I complete a poem, I sit on her bed and read it out loud to her and sit in her presence. I continue to collect them until I write enough for a follow up poetry book. Being a writer continues to be very therapeutic for me and keeps me spiritually connected to her in her physical absence. I pray my words can help others who may need to hear what I have written. God Bless!

This is my newest release to hit the market! As a child, I grew up with an alcoholic father. I watched him overcome his alcoholism in 1986. I became an alcoholic as an adult and overcame my battle while controlling underlying anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I have been sober since April 2022. I am also the father of an alcoholic daughter, who spiraled into severe alcoholism after the death of her daughter in June 2022. She has now been sober since November 2022. This book is a self-help guide that provides guidance, support, inspiration, and encouragement. I also included many resources for alcoholism, addiction, and mental health. Take the journey into sobriety and live the life you always promised yourself you would have!
